“Bravely, bold Sir Biden rode forth to Ukraine,” marking, according to his minstrels at CNN and MSNBC, a courageous, death-defying journey which sits in the pantheon of presidential trips to war zones.
Sure, he didn’t fly into Kyiv on Air Force One like they said, he flew to Germany and then to Poland and trained into Ukraine. And sure, he told his enemy Russia exactly what his travel plans were to make sure they were okay with his trip. And yes, according to CNN, the air raid sirens blasting were likely just a sound effect. But does that make Biden any less brave? (Yes.)
Some people, however, aren’t as excited as corporate media for all the war and Ukrainian deaths. This Sunday, the Rage Against the War Machine rally marched on Washington, with speakers forming a Left-Right coalition to put more pressure on the warmongering elites. Dennis Kucinich, Tulsi Gabbard, Roger Waters, Chris Hedges, Ron Paul, Jimmy Dore, and more spoke, condemning Russia for its invasion and the US for tanking diplomacy.
But if you watched Rachel Maddow’s show, you’d see a random, weird, tiny group of short straws and loose electrons who were, ummm, supporting Russia? It was just…random? It’s similar to those weird Iraq War protests with all those Iraqi flags that were, um, pro Saddam Hussein, I guess? How…random? The McCarthyite warmonger, however, means no disrespect to the group she mocks.
