CNN says Israel killed food workers because of workflow breakdown
What may seem like a targeted murder of civilians was actually just a communication mixup
CNN’s Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper, stooping as low as they can to better lick the boot heels of the IDF, have twisted themselves into a position to see Israel’s murder of an American citizen as simply a communication breakdown. When they finally regained their posture, they announced this revelation on national television.
This week, in between destroying Al Shifa hospital (killing 300 Palestinians), bombing the Iranian embassy in Syria, and shutting down Al Jazeera in Israel, the IDF managed to find time to target and kill seven food workers in the World Central Kitchen. One of them was American.
Instead of condemning Israel for any of these violations of international law and calling them out for war crimes, the corporate props at CNN brought on Israeli spokespeople to explain to viewers that this wasn’t Israeli policy, but a mixup between IDF leaders and the soldiers on the ground. Oops!
Tapper then pivots to the continuously-debunked lie that Hamas carried out an operation of mass sexual assault on October 7th, even though there are zero Israeli witnesses claiming this to be true. But in Jake Tapper’s demented logic, this excuses the IDF for all of its killings, whether accidental or not. It’s the Nazi-refined strategy of dehumanization.
But that’s not all there is to throw down on in this extra-depressing week: we’ve got Hillary Clinton shouting “get over yourself” to voters unhappy with the two presidential candidates (that should work well to win over voters), a UN independent investigator explaining why Israel has plainly shown evidence of committing genocide, some nonsense from a self-acclaimed disinformation expert, and the return of a Russiagate favorite: Havana Syndrome.
It’s been a dark week. Stick with Katie and Aaron and hopefully you’ll be able to laugh instead of cry at all of it. It’s our Thursday bonus episode. Let us know in the comments what corporate media monologues, interviews, or anything else you want to see on the next Thursday Throwdown.
