Matt Taibbi went to Washington and it didn’t go very well for the Congressional Democrats. In impassioned, emblazoned, emotional speeches from the heart, they thought they were #slaying Taibbi with soundbites that would break Twitter and cancel him.

Instead, they came off as some of Washington’s most corrupt and wealthy politicians interrupting a journalist, hypocritically lecturing him that he can’t make money in a capitalist system which they routinely exploit.

Taibbi, who somehow stays hilariously polite through the whole circus, simply gives facts back to the sputtering politicians as they bungee between yelling at him for speaking, begging him to believe them, and ignoring him when he proves them wrong. Ranking member Plaskett, after calling Tabbi “dangerous” and a “so-called journalist,” refuses to even look at him when he calmly explains that he is, in fact, a journalist.

Famously-corrupt Debbie Wasserman Schultz, tin-foil-hat Colin Allred, and Dan “Levi Strauss” Goldman all pile on, getting increasingly hysterical as Taibbi remains cool and collected. Let us know in the comments which meltdown was your favorite.

When a Useful Idiot gets attacked, the other two have no choice but to throw down. Katie and Aaron hold nothing back.

It’s our Thursday bonus episode. Let us know in the comments what corporate media monologues, interviews, or anything else you want to see on the next Thursday Throwdown.
