Hey Useful Idiots,
If you’re a listener of this podcast (excluding the hate watchers, CIA infiltrators, and jealous CNN anchors), you’ve probably had a moment of radicalization in your political journey. A moment of realization that shook your worldview, a time when you suddenly were hit over the head with the thought that everything that’s been shouted at you might not be fully true.
Hopefully this podcast has knocked a few brains into awareness (still waiting on you, Jake Tapper), but what’s often more powerful than journalism is music.
Protest, rebel, and punk music have become not just staples but drivers of American movements. These songs have the power to both motivate already-believers while also lifting minds which have been drowning in the propaganda flooded onto us since preschool. From folk songs to rap anthems to punk protests, music has the power to wake us up and energize us to fight.
What was the song that got you?
Join Aaron and me at 12pm est on the Substack app to share the song that brought you down the Useful Idiots path.
I’ll start, here’s mine:
