FBI Helps Ukraine Censor Aaron Maté: Twitter Files
Matt Taibbi's Twitter Files reveal censorship against another Useful Idiot
Despite the snowballing frequency with which I’ve had to type the phrase over the past months, you’d think it’d get less scary after all this time. It hasn’t: A Useful Idiot is under attack.
This time from the FBI itself. A new Twitter Files shows that the Ukrainian government handed the FBI a list of targets, including Aaron Maté, to blacklist. In response, the FBI handed the list over to Twitter with the order: Censor. And if it weren’t for the executives at Twitter like Yoel Roth who responded that Twitter can’t censor journalists, the Ukraine-FBI plot would have worked.
So today Aaron is unveiling the latest Twitter Files which show that the FBI, with interference from a foreign government, attempted to shut US journalists up. To all those who still somehow claim that the Twitter Files are a nothingburger-PR-for-Elon-Musk-Hunter-Biden-penis-far-right rouse, here is definitive evidence to the contrary.
Plus, as anti-Palestinian groups denounce Roger Waters for his decades-long takedown of fascism, the New York Times quietly claims that they’re own photos of Nazi patches in Ukraine are a problem not because they show that we’re funding Nazis, but because it fuels Russian propaganda. Join us in our struggle to wrap our heads around that one.
As usual, when a Useful Idiot is attacked, Katie and Aaron are here to throw down. It’s our Thursday bonus episode. Let us know in the comments what corporate media monologues, interviews, or anything else you want to see on the next Thursday Throwdown.
