What can we do when we are just ourselves.

I have had a repeating inclination over the years

each time my country has begun a new imperial endeavor. I am speaking of the obvious ones.

My first thought was to tell parents undergoing

violent disruption to offer my home as a temporary place for the children until they could come for them. I live in a beautiful situation here

not in terms of wealth but in nature. It would be

healthy for them and if the parents could come,

a vacation from the horrendous reality that has

assaulted them. What we have in this country is

less than what it once was but still there is adequate schooling and medicine at least in this

island community. I notice I am loath to further

elaborate this fantasy further, because, unbelievably, I feel guarded.

Anan Quzmar of journalists in Palestine: “They are not standing up just for the Palestinian people. They are standing up for humanity.”

Who is US corporate media standing up for? They certainly don’t have the courage or professional integrity to question their own government let alone Israel’s.

In keeping their mouths shut or being complicit in outright lies, Western mainstream journalists help to lay the groundwork for crimes against humanity to continue unchallenged and, as Anan argues, to be repeated in the future.

Where is the Palestinian right to prevent this from happening? Where is their right to self-defense?

It has been and is still being said that Israel has a right to defend itself. Well, it did. How many times does one get to have a "right to defend ones self" for a trespass of a culture's laws of invasion. It someone hit's someone and the injured person has the right to defend? How many blows makes "right"? My mother used to say "Some people, can justify anything. Everyone should stop saying this.

I'm going to go with "fantasy" by Mariah Carey. Because it's Israel's sweet sweet fantasy baby. Friggin maniacs...

Michelle Bachman’s hellcat act (& ain’t she all high-up scratchin’ ass & takin’ names on that microphone?) brings to mind a truly disturbing point I think at least a couple of guests have mentioned on your show lately. One being young Mr. Alareer who when you asked if he had any last thing to say just before you let him go made a point of mentioning the lies. He emphasized how destructive & pervasive they are.

You may not think that has anything to do with what Bachmann was laying down for that audience in Minnesota, in some ways a forward thinking state (relatively) not so long ago. But I think it does.
