Thank you all for all that you do, day in, day out, but especially for reminding me, and others, that we are not going insane, watching all this horror and inhumanity unfold. I wish you the happiest holidays, adjusted for present circumstances of course.

Ty for articulating the mood of our minds. Hopelessness is a real drag. You help us feel we aren’t alone. Your shows lifts one’s spirits indeed. We are lucky to have you tirelessly working towards a better future carrying the PEACE ON EARTH flag while we try to lift our heads weighted from our tears. You are our collective screams to the universe. As a Palestinian Christian first gen GenXer it hurts to the core to see what the world really thinks of us. We appreciate you!

For so many, this has been the darkest year we have experienced. Witnessing Genocide amid silence, indifference, lies, and cheerleading has shattered our faith in governments, systems, and other people. And yet, amid the ugliness and horror, we have found our community of people of conscience, of brothers and sisters and sisters who reaffirm our faith in each other. Our resolve to fight for Truth and Justice is strong. Thank you for your courageous and righteous voices. Peace and justice in Palestine.

Wow.Thank you for this. We are not alone.

A few nights ago I celebrated the Persian night of Yaldah alone. With Hafiz. Someone else is supposed to turn to a poem for the guest, but I closed my eyes and turned to the poem (Ladinsky, which people who speak Farsi don't like much) about love and pain. Here is my translation, in Limerick form (yes, appropriate for an ancient Persian poet):

'Tis true that love comes with pain.

Know it's not easy--a bane!

But love we must

(Life is not just!)

Yet the people we love keep us sane.

Keep the light on. Hold each other tight. And thank you for all that you do.

By no choice of their own our Palestinian brothers and sisters are at the front line. Everyone to the barricades to aid in their relief any way we can . No time to be disheartened. For love’s sake. Nothing is over til it’s over.

I feel exactly as this, I cried so much, and and screamed much at God, how,. why, is this allowed. What stunned me is the majority of people seemed to not care.

It's been a nightmare for me, and at same time I question why them, not me.

I have seen the pain, despair in your faces, and the guests, and thought, if they see my face, that anguish is there too. I'm 73, I don't know if we have given up or not, maybe because it just never gets better, everywhere for All people. I watch out of respect for you both, guests, all who are suffering, trying to Say I hear you, I care. and we must continue together , maybe we are spreading some caring, I hope so .

“There is some good in this world and it’s worth fighting for.” — JRR Tolkien

It will take courage as well as hope to end this tragedy in Gaza and its spread through the Middle East. The courage that’s been shown by the demonstrators, by the Jews who say “not in my name”, and the doctors and nurses and journalists who risk their lives to tell the world what’s happening. All of it adds up and will hopefully turn the tide toward peace and justice.

«There is a crack in everything. That's how the light comes in», Montreal's own Leonard Cohen. The fight goes on. I wrote an entire unpublished book on the Ukraine war. (see in the book section of my bibliography on my web site (michelseymour.org) but I am so happy to discover Scott Horton's fantastic contribution (Provoked). He gives me hope. My reflections on this war as well as those related to the genocide in Gaza have been continuous. On my facebook page but also in the co-written articles (with Samir Saul) published in Pressenza, also mentioned in the newspaper section of my website. This year, I also published a 600 pages long book entitled in French 'Nation et autodétermination au XXIe siècle'. It is available in free access at amazon and at the Presses de l'Université de Montréal, again mentioned on my website. In short, writing gives me hope. Music also. Listening to Caitlin Johnstone and watching Useful Idiots as well. Cheers !

I have to remind myself, that we - you, me and others are the peace, love and truly the light that this world needs. So, please don't let the darkness (sadness, anger, hatred) cover the light that you (we) bring into this world. Thanks.

Beautifully said. We are united in our humanity in our sadness and grief during this moment. But I’d rather feel shattered and broken, than be like those who feel nothing at all.

I’m also remembering your explanation of the meaning of Comfortably Numb - “If you have feelings, treasure them. If you burst into tears about the baby with all those shrapnel wounds, treasure it.”

You all have been the light for those of us broken by Gaza. I don’t know what I’d do without this worldwide community of people who care, who are outraged and desperate to do something to stop the genocide and impunity for all its perpetrators. Thank you ❤️
