We talk with friend-of-show Nina Turner's campaign surrogate Jennifer R. Farmer, who discusses Nina's progressive policies and outlook on Tuesday's race
I am very confused by your posts. I am a subscriber. Where is the full interview? What are you referring to when you say go to substack.com? That is where I am.
As long as this bunch is clining to the notion that elctorialism can somehow make a difference - they might as well rebrand thesmselves as the "useless idiots". Even if you ignore that - "useless idiots" still applies because this article is nothing more than a teaser for the episode later in the week and the primary is in just a couple of days.
While I agree it's frustrating that the subscriber pay-walled content isn't as readily available as we may like, I think we can afford to cut Matt and Katie some slack. Balancing life and work during the summer months, especially with Covid, can't be the easiest thing. Just saying.
You two are destroying your show, in my humble opinion. Everyone paying feels ripped off getting the interviews late. That’s just a dumb idea that needs to go away. It pisses everyone of us off. Us:your patrons. What are we actually paying for? Watching you two drive off a cliff if you don’t become more responsive to your audience. I’m saying what we’re all feeling. You’re must immediately change your release dates to favor your patrons. It’s been blowing my mind how you’re failing on this front. I work as a self employed maid. I except better of you. I will actively campaign against your model, whatever the reject model you’re following,
There’s always a better model. I will follow, but won’t sit in a puddle of irrelevance.
Agreed. Only I would expand that to, sadly & curiously, a number of topics. So, so many times I listen to him valid points, connecting dots along the way, only to inevitably fail to follow them to their logical conclusions. Worse, it's completely & blatantly wilful.
The interview, at times, turn into a Nina Turner political ad - which I found unnecessary and weird. I am sure Jennifer Farmer is a fine person but her responses come off as artificial and insincere - like CNN or MSNBC pundit.
Truth be told, it’s hard to hear even well founded and accurate criticisms about the unresponsive nature of our electoral politics when they’re posted by people who are not responding to the requests and solid advice of their own paying subscribers. I recognize this is not a government or a democratic institution, but this is seriously frustrating and confusing.
What is the end game of posting partial interviews for paid subscribers? If the idea is to drive up overall views, I think it’s flawed. Much better to rely on the quality of your content to achieve that end. If you’re lacking in confidence that this would be effective, that’s because you’re not consulting these comments. I’m not sure how many times I’ve read that paid subscribers are not happy with this model and that the quality of the experience would be improved by posting the whole show here first. Your banter and goofiness are endearing, but I watch this show for the interviews. All the extras, Sunday show commentary, “breaking posts,” whatever you two want to do, it’s great! But it all feels misguided when the core element of your show is flawed in a manner so glaringly obvious and easily remedied.
Truly frustrating, and I love these guys and am willing to cut everyone some slack. But I just paid for an annual membership (should have given that money to Nina!) so I could listen to the entire interview with Jennifer R. Farmer. I hunted around, logged out and logged back in, checked Substack help page ... the comments on this post are the only helpful information I can find. I guess I just couldn't believe that Katie would tell us "If you want to listen to the full interview go to usefulidiots.substack.com" and then I would come here, and pay, but there's no full interview! Long form interviews don't need to be edited, just posted. It's not like the UI vibe is slick. We don't need slick. Your patrons like it rough! Lol. We just want our content. Post the full interviews behind the paywall, then put up the free content. Please and thank you. <3
So. You guys are still doing this bullshit where you dissect your own show, presumably knowing people hate that shit, yet you don’t even inspect the innards. You continue tonmake paying members wait a day or two until you bother to post the long form you bragged about. Ok. Solid business plan.
I’m about to cancel. The butchering you’ve done to your own show is tragic. Now you’re just journalism soup ingredients. You’re more insignificant in my life, and that’s a shame. Because I thought this show had awesome potential.
Just gave my $27 to Nina And shame on Clyburn and that "Please go Away" person...Hillary!
another ui show 😎
Hey Matt, I have a clip for you I need to submit for Monday mourning. I have no address hit me up on twitter at @wavefoundation in the dm. 😎
How it that even a comment? Sorry 😌🧚♀️

The extended version usually doesn't post until a few days later. It's very frustrating, because I have to come back to substack to find it.
I hopr the rest of the interview is posted soon because it will be irrelevant August 3 (date of the election).

Matt you get so close to calling out the media's double standard, but catch yourself and back off

It will take another generation to vote for M4A? Not a pressing issue for people who have GREAT health insurance. Please don't dismiss this issue.
How do we see the Monday morning show? I don’t see anything in the archives. Tried to find it last week.

Fix it!
Whew… okay done.
