The failures of corporate media, and the recurring insistence of editors on publishing propaganda over independent journalism, reveals how the escalating genocide in Gaza (and expanding Israeli state terrorism well beyond it) also threaten democracy in America. I wrote a bit more about this yesterday as part of a continuing series: https://shahidbuttar.substack.com/p/the-first-year-of-world-war-iii

Because of your writings, I'm beginning to think the Jews staged the entire Oct. 7th debacle. Hamas was doing nothing that day but caring for the Palestinian people.

Those were not righteous Hamas fighters that stormed the music festival but the IDF. They flew in and fake killed everyone...and there are actually no hostages. The missiles coming in from Gaza, Lebanon and Iran are all staged by the IDF....so they can have their war in the middle east

When Biden leaves office he’ll get a tenured faculty position at Harvard!

Probably, if he wasn't so decrepit. I'm surprised he's still alive.

This homogenized set of perspectives of the corporate press reveals an extremely important aspect regarding the politics of Imperial Warmongering. There is a common source above and beyond the opinions and beliefs of specific politicians. Often Biden’s loyalty to Israel is treated as a motivating factor regarding his actions. I regard this as profoundly irrelevant. When Biden was told to stand down by the oligarch/donors as a candidate, he did it. In other words the very wealthy told the President of the USA that he was fired as a candidate. He submitted. They could have also told him to stop funding the genocide. He would have also submitted. They own Biden. Biden’s personal opinions and desires are entirely cosmetic and meaningless. It is also true that Biden, or any specific politician, has very little influence over the US corporate media. Their influence is entirely dependent to the degree that they are obedient to the dominant (as defined by whom?) narrative. Even the President lacks the power to effectively require the level of homogeneity of opinion that is currently on display with both major parties and all of the corporate media, which is entirely in agreement with genocide and the outrageous lies of Israels, as well as the distortions of the Ukrainian War. I’m 72 and I’ve never seen this level of propagandistic obeisance before. I’m sure it’s a direct response to the threat posed by social media. Nevertheless, if the central power isn’t any politician than who or what is guiding this evil propagandistic process? That’s obvious. It’s the super-wealthy who essentially own the US Empire. In fact they are the US Empire. It’s like 400 families that control trillions and are deeply deeply invested in sustaining and expanding the US Empire. They are the ENEMY. Not Harris or Trump or any other of the corporate owned sleazeballs that are inhabiting our screens. These are the parasitic sociopaths that approve of wars, poverty, and corruption. The Alternative Press, which I fervently support, needs to focus on these people. They are the real players, way above and beyond any politician. They’re also the most dangerous people to fuck with. But then we’re dealing with billions of lives and the survival of our planet and the Life there on. Serious Shit.

Cannot watch this…I really tried. I am a member of Monthly Review and just finished reading an article, “The Council on Foreign Relations, the Israel Lobby, and the War on Gaza” by Laurence Shoup. That was enough. But I did just renew my subscription to Useful Idiots. So thank you for all you do. Maybe some day I can watch Monday Mourning again.

My eyes may be deceiving me, but I get the impression that Kamala is allowed to go off-script to answer the most pressing of questions precisely because she needs practice in honing her non-answer. Not that the answer will get any clearer but that she will become more practiced in it and thus more convincing to those who may be in the market for that sort of thing.

Her use of facial expression & hand signal is the politics of gesture. Remember the Kente-genuflection? Once she gets those hands up in the air moving together, pointed fingers, knit brow, knowing grin that the perp is going down, the open-mouthed soundless laugh that’s it, that’s all, that comprises the totality of the message. Supply your own interpretation of the words. Soon I suspect it will be feasible to transmit wordless images of Kamala spontaneously to peoples’ screens all over the globe to convey K-joy or displeasure or warning. Her likeness could suddenly appear out of the blue, like a rocket or a leaflet ordering residents to flee. Someone could probably write a book about it. A working title might be Big Brother Had A Big Sister.
