Speaker Trump to the Rescue?
In a weird turn, the new frontrunner to replace Kevin McCarthy is also the frontrunner for president
As the New York Times put it, “Far-right G.O.P. faction throws House into chaos as McCarthy is ousted.” Sure, every Democratic representative voted alongside those far-right Republicans, but how can that possibly make them to blame?
This is where our Thursday Throwdown opens, with mayhem in the House of Representatives. And the frontrunner for taking over McCarthy’s job? Somehow, it’s Donald Trump.
Which would certainly be funny.
Katie and Aaron are throwing down on the upcoming speaker battle: the Republicans fuming about McCarthy’s ouster and the traitors who led it, and the Democrats more upset about Nancy Pelosi losing her corner office.
And then we head to the government next door, which is in no-less embarrassing turmoil: that’s right, it’s Canada. After accidentally giving a standing ovation to an SS Nazi, the Parliament and western media are scrambling to erase it from history.
Politico, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Canadian Press, and others are all running propaganda cover to pretend the guy wasn’t really a Nazi, or maybe that he was a good Nazi, or that he was just a wannabe Nazi? We’re not really sure, they haven’t gotten their story straight yet.
But the one thing they’re all sure of? It was Russian propaganda made them do it.
So tune in to this week’s Thursday Throwdown: it’s a mess. And you’re gonna love it. There’s a lot to throw down, Katie and Aaron are warmed up. It’s our Thursday bonus episode. Let us know in the comments what corporate media monologues, interviews, or anything else you want to see on the next Thursday Throwdown.
