The Absurd Arena – Useful Idiots Discussion Board Week of 11.14
For the Useful Idiots who think they can talk back to a podcast.
Hey Useful Idiots,
The most important election of our lives turned out to only create yet another excuse for the Democrats to do nothing for the working class. With Republican control of the House, they may not even need the rotating villains Manchin and Sinema to block all the great bills that they totally want to pass.
Which means two more years of stalled bills, take-backs on student debt relief, failed attempts to protect civil liberties, and a whole lot more war. While some on the Left say blocking the red wave is an achievement to celebrate, the more-total blocking of any independent or 3rd-party candidates proves that the two factions of the same ruling class have only fortified their stronghold over US politics.
But hey, maybe we’ll at least have some fun with Trump’s upcoming 2024 announcement.
We want to hear your thoughts on the nonsense. But remember, this is the absurd arena, which means you can talk about anything you want: election post-mortems, making American great again (again), the now-forgotten Ukraine proxy war, the new movie you saw in theaters, what you’re making for dinner, the whispers from the monster under your bed.
As usual, the best comments will be read on the show. Here’s the starter prompt:
What will the new Congress look like? Will we get anything good from this government? What questions do you have for Katie and Aaron about US politics as we head toward 2024?
If Republicans take the House as expected, I'm willing to bet anyone $5 that Biden signs more bills in the second half of his presidency than he did in the first half. Any takers? BET ME, YOU COWARDS.
Anyone else think Jamie Raskin looks like Jon Hamm's unpopular older brother who happens to have high blood pressure and irritable bowel syndrome?
