Hi team, why do you think we need to raise a law on wages? I have had 3 no experience office job postings for 25 an hour, plus healthcare, plus benefits, plus commission for several months with no applicants.

Local fast food is offering 12$ an hour to start.

Wages are being offered high and Americans still will not go to work.

We do not need to set a law that is very hard to change when in practice right now no one really makes minimum wage, .3 % of workers makes minimum wage.

Of the 70 million wage workers in the U.S. only 270,000 make the minimum wage and the majority of those are in high school. Not every job is abouy making a living wage, some jobs are about getting work experience, some jobs go to handicapped people and those people I know personally find a great deal of happiness in having a job because it is a significant accomplishment in their life with their mental handicap. If the minimum wage is raised to 15 or 20 those people will just lose their jobs.

Most minimum wage jobs are basically an agreement between worker and company, The worker knows they are getting very low pay and the employer knows they will get very little productivity from that employee.

I am not judging but I am guessing neither of you have had a regular forty hour a week job in a small company that isnt in media. Some companies need a shop floor swept up 20 times a day. Its about 2 hours of real work but it needs to be done for about 10 minutes every hour and this is where you hire in a high school student or maybe someone on disability who would really like to have a place to go during the day and a job to do, but if you had to pay that person 30k a year for this job you would just likely overwork a current employee by having them sweep the floor and do their normal job.

Newspapers, media, and numerous other outlets somehow get away with unpaid interns, people with small businesses do not have rich college students hanging around begging to work for free so they might see their name in print some day.
