Here's one idea. Let's call for them to release Biden's call with Zelensky and see what Zelensky really thinks about all this. Also, check out the confrontation between Ned Price, State Department spox, and Mike Lee, AP reporter. I have hope.

We don't need to talk to Zelensky we can read his scripts. Zelensky is President because of the scripts he wrote for the President of Ukraine. I wonder if there was an episode where he spoke to president Biden.

I am obsessed with the Irish genocide. I think Johnathan Swift's Modest Proposal is the greatest satirical essay ever written. In 1712 the potato was largely unknown in Ireland. In 1850 one million people would die from starvation and one million more would be exported because the potato crop failed. I grew up on potatoes and beets I am a peasant.

I am an old man. I love my beets and potatoes, I love my rice and I love my pasta. I am a lucky peasant I can eat them with all the protein I want and serve them with the spices of Beijing, Rome, Bengal, France, Africa and South America. I do not understand America, I do not understand Russia and I do not understand China and I do not understand Empire. Who gives up everything for nothing?

We need truth tellers like Zelensky Thunberg and Chomsky.

An outstanding 4-part (so far) Fox-Nation video – “Who is Hunter Biden”

It details the corruption and monstrosity of US president and his family. Obama organized coup in Ukraine and Biden as his VP was a de facto governor of that beautiful country, selecting and removing its government members, judges and heads of the industry.

US has three main exports – coups, corruption and weapons – in democratic Ukraine it exported, at enormous profits for many US politicians and their children (Pelosi, Kerry, etc.), -- it exported ALL three – introducing enormous corruption while -- “fighting corruption”. Note, key roles of Adam Schiff, colonel Windman, Jake Sullivan, former Hillary and now Biden’s national security advisor, and rabid Cold War Russia-hater Fiona Hill in Russia-gate hoax concocted by St. Obama, Hillary and Biden.

Same lying team is promoting an “instant” attack on now oh soo “democratic” Ukraine with Nazi-army units whose snipers killed more than 70 people in 2014 Kiev’s Maidan square protests and burned nearly 100 people seeking safety in an Odessa building..

The documentary failed to show Biden infamous speech in Senate celebrating his new Draconian law for drug use “which no judge will be able to overturn or soften” – while his son, “the smartest businessman he ever knew”, was consuming for a decade hard drugs at rate of $40K/month or higher. Hunter’s teeth were so corroded from drugs that his dental work (crowns and implants) totaled $70K+.

It is certainly true that the incompetent clown Trump and anti-China GOP lunatics are bad. But Joe Biden’s corruption and war-mongering are comparable to Clinton’s family and even more dangerous.

Is it possible to stop with the “traumatic injury to penis” stuff? I like to listen to the podcast in the gym and i really enjoy Matt, katie, and Aaron’s personalities as well as their opinions. But when I start to hear traumatic penis injury stuff I actually have to stop and skip thru because it’s like nails on a chalkboard. Also, can the extended interviews start where the regular interviews end? This way we can start the main show, and then we can just hit “play next” on the extended interview and it becomes like one long show without having to touch your phone!

Sarah McLaughlin "River"

The song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2t9J4YBI_0

-------------

RIVER

It’s coming on Christmas, they’re cutting down trees

They’re putting up reindeer, singing songs of joy and peace

Oh, I wish I had a river I could skate away on

But it don’t snow here, it stays pretty green

I’m going to make a lot of money

And then I’m gonna quit this crazy scene

Oh, I wish I had a river I could skate away on

I wish I had a river so long

I would teach my feet to fly

Oh, I wish I had a river I could skate away on

I made my baby cry

He tried hard to help me, you know, he put me at ease

And he loved me so naughty, made me weak in the knees

Oh, I wish I had a river I could skate away on

Well, I’m so hard to handle, I’m selfish and I’m sad

Now I’ve gone and lost the best baby that I ever had

Oh, I wish I had a river I could skate away on

Oh, I wish I had a river so long

I would teach my feet to fly

Oh, I wish I had a river that I could skate away on

I made my baby say goodbye

It’s coming on Christmas, they’re cutting down trees

They’re putting up reindeer, singing songs of joy and peace

Oh, I wish I had a river I could skate away on

You know what will NOT make life for the Ukrainians better? If the US gets involved militarily. Just ask the Afghans, Syrians, Iranians, Iraqis, Nigerians, Somalians, Hondurans, Nicaraguans, Mexicans, Chileans, Bolivians, Venezuelans, Congolese, Zimbabwaans, Yemenese, Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians - to name a few - how the US getting involved militarily in their country has turned out for them.

Yeah, Putin is a bad dude. Ukraine is neither pro-EU nor pro-Russia. What won't make the situation better is more weapons and more CIA funded and trained neo-Nazi Ukrainian fighters. But that is what the US has been doing, is doing and wants to do more of.

Ukraine was doing better without our "help." It would do better without us (US) again.

Also South America Moe, lotta trade there too. Before 2014 the majority here would have been for non-aligned. Poland 1939, Baltics in 1940 (Half of FInalnd too), Hungary 1956, Czechoslovakia 1968, Georgia 2008 etc.

Lots here used to think Putin was ok as a balance to the west before 2014, even we did, now we don't like him much.. He's blown any capital he had in this regard. He's doing the opposite of what he should do for the outcomes he wants. He's forced Ukraine into a position where there is no other option but to seek closer western ties. LIke all politicians he f**k's up every now and then big time.

You have to remember, Russia has been meddling here big time since the end of the USSR. It's not just the USA. Any "meddling" in America is miniscule by comparison. Ukraine wants to be part of Europe, not part of Russia anymore.

Fifty years ago Quebec was considering leaving Canada today some in Canada wish we would leave because Canada and Quebec are inseparable and more and more of us want to leave America and want to follow our own path.

We are to America what the Ukraine is to Russia. Our American speakers are becoming more and more Canadian. Our political divide is within our Conservative party where they speak both Canadian and American. As we become a land of big box stores we are developing a society of local consumers. Parts of the Ukraine want to be part of Europe. Parts don't. Which is why I agreed with you that Ukraine should be neutral.

Or else is should break up - non-violently. In any case, the US should get the fuck out.

How do the Russian people feel? Is it possible Zelensky is more popular in Moscow than Putin?

Expand full comment
Emir Krupič's avatar

Ok to explain that requires understanding the demogrphics here, since 2014. Usually media says (oversimplifying but partly correct - it's one factor) East = for-Russia, West= for-Ukraine. Well there's more to it. I live in Donetsk Oblast 60km from the front lines - we all speak Russian and it's not banned (even in the stores, where you are supposed to speak Ukrainian, everyone mostly speaks Russian still).

Younger gen who don't remember the USSR, they don't want Russia. It's a silly idea even though lots have family in Russia maybe. The older generation, the elderly, they lament the USSR. Most of the people witha bad attitude to Ukraine are in those bandit republics. Anyone who is not so belligerent has mostly left there. So those for Russia are in the minority here and also in the rest of Ukraine more or less, so they just go with the flow.

Russian language is not banned here, that's complete hogwash, If you work in the government you have to use Ukrainian for the paperwork. and as aforementioned, also in the stores but mostly it's Russian spoken still. Theres a lot of liars on RT saying otherwise and they don't even live here, that really bothers me.

All the western European countries have groups like this in far larger numbers. He never mentions those. Just hysteria about "Nazis in Ukraine".

Support for far-right is <2% here. He never ever gives that context. He purposely wants the un-knowing to think we are all nazis here. We're just not, ok ?

Also he uses the terms "fascist" and "nazi" inter-changeably, a red flag indicting he has no clue what either really are. Musollini wasn't a nazi and Jitler wasn't a fascist, there are intrinsic differences - the ideology of both is national socialism though. All his reporting on Ukraine is negative.....that's propaganda not journalism

Blumenthal absolutely doesn't think all Ukrainians are Nazis. Did you even read the article?

Blumenthal's point is that the US is arming Nazis to destabilize Ukraine. Just like the US armed Al Qaeda in Syria to overthrow Assad. And armed Hussein to gas Iran, before later invading Iraq to overthrow Hussein. Blumenthal's critique is of US policy, not Ukrainians in general.

Yes, all western and central European countries have them (we have them here in Austria). The difference is that the far right in Austria are not getting weapons and training from the US to turn Austria into a failed state or US vassal, and that IS what is happening in Ukraine.

Your claim of "racism" against Blumenthat without evidence makes your entire post look weak.

There is no evidence except in your head for that position. The USSR was an authoritarian empire and I'm not sad it is gone, but they didn't go into Western Europe until after Western Europe invaded Russia - again (France and the US to name two before Hitler did).

I'm not a fan of what the USSR did after WWII, but I can at least understand it. Russia wanted buffer countries between them and Western Europe to protect against ANOTHER invasion.

So what has happened since the USSR fell apart? NATO, which exisited ONLY to counter Soviet military might (and thus should have been dissolved after 1991), has slowly expanded to the buffer states that were protecting Russia from invasion.

Putin may be a brutal dictator, but he's not stupid. And Russia does have security interests, whether the US wants to recognize them or not. Russia is not going to wait until the US - I mean "NATO" - has completely surrounde them before pushing back.

This is the essense of what is happening in Ukraine. And Khazahstan. And Moldova.

Essentially, we created this situation when our only concern at the dissolution of the Soviet Union was economics issues, such as getting them to privatize state owned industries and open their markets to American businessmen. We could have engaged them in positive ways, but just didn't have a clue and couldn't have cared less. Such is American "diplomacy".

Heh, guys, you missed the tens of thousands of Zionists, who are mobilized at the instant the Israeli's and their apologists sense the slightest departure from the AIPAC/ADL line that any criticism of Israeli's project of ethnically cleansing Palestine of Palestinians is anti-semitic.

The elders I grew up around in the local Jewish community of my youth, working class folks, farmers, factory workers and so forth: They were clear--'Never Again' meant, Not to anyone, Anywhere, Not 'its our turn'. These simple statements of sentiment were reflected in the way these people treated and accepted me. That in part, informs why I am so incensed at the crimes of Zionism. The Zionist's use the real suffering and deaths of millions in the European context (and to a lesser extent, here, in the failure of their forefather's to push back against the Roosevelt Admin's viewing of Jews as expendable and the Othering of Jews, until they fully became honorary White People after WW2).

That is horrifying: The Allies had recon photos etc. of Auschwitz. One can see the photos at the Holocaust Museum, today. The Allies never bombed the rail road tracks leading into the death camps. They did bomb and burn German cities, like Dresden, to the ground. The larger Auschwitz death camp was gigantic, equivalent to a good sized city, for those of us who did grow up in NYC, etc.

"What about influence in dollar terms?

Pro-Israel interest groups donate millions to US federal political candidates. During the 2020 campaign, pro-Israel groups donated $30.95m, with 63 percent going to Democrats, 36 percent to Republicans. That is about twice as much as they donated during the 2016 campaign, according to OpenSecrets.org."
