Are we still a democracy? Are comment boards still allowed in our new dictatorship? I will snitch on anyone who posts here if not. 🤞🏼

My main hope for tonight is that we get all of the Georgia races settled quick so we don’t have to hear “Georgia On My Mind” on loop for the next 3 weeks 🤞🏼

Genuinely wondering if dems will continue this "save democracy" narrative post-midterms ? Would love to hear your thoughts. Looking forward to the stream!

If the republicans take both the senate and the house I’m curious how the dems will spin it to absolve themselves of guilt after literally funding right wing extremists? What’s the next step for them after a potential loss?

Why GOP “Lost” -- https://thedreizinreport.com/2022/11/09/why-gop-lost/

Howdy all-- every week you show us just how much Democrats and Republicans SUCK! Is it even possible for the working class to FLUSH both of these parties down the drain-- seriously-- from where I’m sitting DEMOCRACY for the working class has been nonexistent for DECADES! Tonight’s dog and pony show might be GREAT for ratings-- but it makes me sick

Seriously big thanks to MrT and the whole TEAM for holding these rats/cockroaches feet to the FIRE!

Is this a drinking game podcast? Is it ok to take a drink* when any politicians says a lie on TV about "voting for democracy"?

I had a large, greasy bean burrito, does that create the possibility for an environmental catastrophe? when combined with lies from politicians?

excerpt:

To the best of my knowledge, there’s only one place in America where you can get a Shingles shot, a COVID shot, and a shot of whiskey. Coincidentally, it’s the same place you can get a world class crab cake, a chocolate milkshake, and some adult diapers. I refer, of course, to Drug City Liquor Store in Dundalk, MD ...

Eh. This is probably the least excited I've ever been for any election in my life. Might call it an early night. Ugh

Katie: On Marianne Williamson's reference to the guy who argues that the neoliberal assault started with and under Carter & Co, check out the nonfiction film Requiem for the American Dream. The entire film is remarkable for saying so much about the conflict between the elite and the populace, and it's highly watchable/listenable. But directly to that point, one could watch just from about 9:55 to 16:35 here: https://youtu.be/WiJ-ncxAOD8

The perspective of the right-wing of the essentially unified elite is distilled in (to-be Supreme Court justice) Jerome Powell's "Powell Memorandum": Business needs to use its resources to enhance "indoctrination of the young."

The perspective of the liberal wing of the unified elite is emblematized in the report of the Trilateral Commission: The Crisis of Democracy ("the crisis was 'excess democracy'").

The Trilateral Commission comprised the ideological core of the Carter administration.

Reagan "only" turbocharged the "bitter class war."
