So I came to substack for the rest of the interview and it said once again, go to substack for the rest of the interview. What gives?

You need to go to substack for the rest of the interview. Just kidding.

IIRC They drop the second part on Mondays.

Great coverage of the Colin Powell story. We also have to keep in mind that the oligarchy uses various forms of blackmail to keep people in line. For example, John Bolton threatened Jose Bustani by saying, "We know where your kids live". Bustani, director of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, was advocating for inspections in Iraq to avoid a war, and Bolton was George W. Bush's Ambassador to the U.N. Reported by Aaron Mate at 15:00 of this video.

If I see one of those killer robot dogs in front of my house, I'm dropping a bag of bricks on it from my second floor window. Defund the Deep State.

the calipers of bullets fired from the cyborg dog are the same as used by snipers and marksmen rifles. In other words and creedmore and lapua rounds are quite big so it is hard to imagine the dog carry many of them.

At about 28:20, you bring up the NYT article about Powell and the argument that the lying government created the situation that made Trump relevant. Bullshit. The American people are to blame. In 1963 the passage of the the Civil Rights Act created the situation in which conservatives started a movement to regain power from the establishment that recognized the rights of black people that enshrined equal opportunity in law and thus infringed on the entitlement of conservatives. Nixon was able to take advantage of this in his Southern Strategy. These Americans lashed out against blacks, anti-Vietnam War protesters, college students, higher education, etc. They fully supported a belligerent government that promoted power against their enemies, truth be damned. They fully supported any conservative reactionary who would simply "speak the truth" against their enemies and objective truth had nothing to do with it.

Trump was able to speak to conservatives' ire at being left behind because of those that rejected American exceptionalism and their entitlement. We need to stop making up stories about Americans hating being lied to because conservatives don't care so long as those lies produce results for them and leave others behind and punish their enemies.

Long time listener and subscriber since the beginning. Would love if you could have Mike Masnick of Techdirt on Useful Idiots at some point, he really gets Section 230 and would be a great, interesting guest. https://twitter.com/mmasnick

I know your not comedians,however- thought you could develop a new segment for your show. “Worst ever pick up lines”thought of this in light of the story you had of the app that measures ones unconscious erections.

I feel like your interviewee had some incredibly naive and/or shit takes:

1) Compelled speech comment (that’s a corporate line, and pro moderation/censorship)

2) Wikipedia being protected by 1st amendment (editors aren’t, and pr firms took it over years ago)

3) Matt’s point about the whistleblower being “helpful” vs exploited for the creation of a revolving door for social media

Ultimately he seems useless and easily co-opted.

Agreed, there was something off about the guest. That gal was not a whistleblower, she's been "groomed" by the CIA on what to say/not say about facebook.

The extended interviews are only for subscribers. They come out every monday morning on substack

Expand full comment

Whydon't you guys set it up so subscribers get the whole interview Friday, and non subscribers get the truncated version on Monday with the ask to subscribe for more?? This format seems backasswards!! It's so frustrating to get caught up in the interview and then have to wait for "the rest". I miss the logic.

It’s only audio on substack tho right? Are there extended videos also?

Yes it comes out as both video and audio. Same as the main episode

People should pay more for their use of fossil fuels, screw the argument that they shouldn't. Their decisions have brought us global warming, let them pay for it, end their subsidy and end the externalization before we end up with an extinction event that will end civilization.

1/ CNN are now experiencing "boy who cried wolf" blowback. While they might have made articles about what is in the Build Back Better Bill, either nobody watches them anymore, or nobody believes them any more.

2/ The Dem regime collectively (including Bernie) have gotten so used to "their" media doing their publicity for them, that they are now taking it for granted - and passively assume the the media will do their job for them. When actually, it is the relevant Democrat office holders that ought to be actively promoting their own agenda.

3/ But WHOSE agenda it is really?
